Energy

Energy has over the centuries evolved to become a critically important economic factor to the world economy. We at India are among the huge energy producers and the high per-capita energy consumers in the world because of our varied climate and resources. Thus, the secure and sustainable production and use of our energy resources presents many challenges and opportunities for Indians.

Earlier India was dependent upon mainly hydro power which is now well supported by thermal power and nuclear power generation capacity. However the advancement of technological and infrastructural inputs and the scales of production, the power requirements are on the steep high and matching it with the production and distribution channel capabilities is becoming difficult day by day.

Meeting our energy requirements presents challenges and opportunities for India’s regions and resource industries. India has many resources that are energy sources, including oil, natural gas, fossil and alternative fuels, uranium, and renewable. Harnessing and distributing the energy provided by these resources efficiently and safely requires collaboration and expertise. Central Government works with States and Union Territories, other government departments, and international groups to explore how to meet our energy needs and adapt to changes in distribution methods while considering the environmental impact of doing so.
Private Sector is also actively involved in almost all of the energy sector’s activities, exploration, research & development and distribution etc. The Consulting and Support groups help government study and take critical decisions in planning its Energy policy and Energy Generation roadmap.
